The Study Stop was established in 2007 by owner, Amber Carlson
Hello! My name is Amber Carlson and I was raised here in the Treasure Valley for
most of my life. I was lucky to attend the best public schools with the best teachers
around! I have always loved school, learning, and teaching, and I began pursuing
my dream of becoming a teacher during high school through a special Elementary Mentor
Program where I spent one year tutoring children at a local elementary school. I
continued my education by attending University of Idaho's College of Education.
There I spent 4 years learning and working with children in Moscow and Lewiston.
During the summers I also became certified in Intensive Behavioral Intervention
and began working with children with a range of disabilities. After graduating I
returned to Boise to begin working as a 4th grade teacher in Star, Idaho. During
the past five years I have continued tutoring children before and after school,
and during the summer hours. It is very rewarding to work one-on-one and discover
each student's unique strengths!

- Idaho Certified Elementary Teacher
- Currently employed with Meridian School District, very familiar with Idaho curriculum and Standards
- B.S. Education; Reading Endorsement
- Gifted/Talented Endorsement in Progress
- Certified IBI Professional
- Exemplary scores on all State Required Tests required for educators
- Worked with Huntington as K-12, ACT/SAT Prep tutor
- Received top SAT scores among all staff
